Couples Costumes You Hope to Not See This Year

It’s ALMOSTTTTT Halloween. Which means costumes, and even worse, couples costumes. As if it not bad enough that costume companies have decided just add the word “sexy” or “sultry” or “spicy” and it will be a great costume…like ok costume company, I didn’t know broccoli could be sexy, but you proved me wrong…………….but moving on. Couples costumes. They try to be creative and there really are some great ones out there! But these are the ones that for your sake, I really hope you don’t see tomorrow, or tonight. Some may be/are offensive. Just a warning.  Continue reading

#TBT on Dating

Happy Thursday all! It’s ALMOST Friday….almost. Also, be glad it’s still not the 1950’s and this isn’t considering a major faux pas anymore

awkwardpostions

My whole life is sitting in awkward positions. Which sometimes includes awkwardly resting half of my body on my boyfriend. From the sounds of it, he would not approve if we were dating in the 50’s. But lets be honest, if this was the 50’s I would be the designated spinster because I would never make it as a 1950’s housewife.

Ashley Madison Database

oh my god, hi everyone! I know I haven’t posted anything in a super long time. I have some posts working in my mind, and truthfully, writing this blog took a lot more out of me emotionally than I ever thought it would. Writing about failed relationships and essentially reliving some of those experiences was a little more difficult than I anticipated. Now that I know what I’m working with, I’m ready to jump into the more recent stuff. Stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, I am SURE you have heard that the website Ashley Madison was compromised. If you haven’t, please email me, because I feel you may need to be filled in on some other current events as well. Either way, the database of emails is searchable. Upon learning this I did what any rational person would do and started plugging the emails that belonged to my exes into some sites. Most of them came back with no record found, good to know. BUT THEN, I put in the email of one I always had a sneaking suspicion of. To not much surprise, his came back as a compromised email address. I basically burst out laughing and had to gchat one of my good friends to tell her, to which we laughed and laughed and agreed I dodged a bullet on that one.

If you have yet to search the database, even for funsies, to see if that cute guy at work is REALLY that committed (which hopefully he is!), here are the links to search the database, both work, it’s your choice which you want to use.

Happy hunting and may the odds be ever in your favor! Whichever you are hoping for that is.

Bachelorette Recap: Week 4

And I swear I did start this episode immediately after I finished the Week 3 post. With the small break I took to buy a snack on the train. Watching Kaitlyn is quite an ordeal at times. For a second I want to talk about how boring watching the Bachelorette can be. It really is not as entertaining as the Bachelor. And I know, I am under no obligation to recap the show. But the more and more I watch the more I really dislike Kaitlyn. It’s now getting to a point where I feel invested and like I can’t give up and I really want to see her be a more interesting person. And stop making out with EVERYONE. You are not Juan Pablo.

Alright, so in Week 3, we left off with Kaitlyn going to confront Clint about how he is not genuine. Not sure if this is based off of his obsession with JJ or something else. Alright from what Kaitlyn is saying it sounds like the guys have just told her how much they dislike Clint and how he may be one of the biggest douchebags in Bachelor history. She looks pissed.  He looks oddly confident still. Even after Kaitlyn pulls him aside.

Bachelorette Recap: Week 3

I know, I know. Week 5 of the Bachelorette airs tonight and I am JUST getting week 3 up. Lucky for you all, I am on a train for the next 6 hours, and plan to do nothing but recap week 3 & 4. Sadly this means I will not be back home in time to watch week 5 tonight….but I swear I’ll have it up before week 7 or 10.

Alright so quick reminder from Week 2…we were left with Kupah not wanting to accept that he was being sent home. This happened before the official rose ceremony, so no one else had been sent home. And we’re back into Week 3. Kupah is still standing in the front of the mansion yelling about how he just wants to answer the questions and go home, he just wants to go home. We keep seeing Kaitlyn be all like “oh my god, he’s being so dramatic”. Chill girl. He’s not being that dramatic, nor does it really seem to be any reason to get all concerned. The most conerning thing about this whole situation to me is his choice of wearing suspenders that are clearly doing NOTHING.  I mean it’s pretty obvious from this rant that Kupah is drunk, and obviously feels he should not go home. But isn’t this how pretty much every contestant leaves the show. Soooo this is like not that dramatic, by Bachelor standards.

TGIF Laughs

It’s Friday everyone. Even though my weekend doesn’t start until Sunday, event planner problems, I know the majority of you are already enjoying your weekends. Here’s some laughs to start it off!

201505_0242_cggeg

As much as I severely hate the use of the word “bae”. Like what the fuck is that, it’s not even real. Despite that, I literally lol’ed at this. Maybe because I have a friend who I can clearly picture saying this in real life to someone, but either wayyyy, it’s funny.

Also, if you run into any great dating situations over the weekend that you’re like “I NEED TO SHARE THIS WITH SOMEONE”. Share it with me! idratherbesingleblog@gmail.com. I love your stories, and I will even put it on the blog for you, if you want. I’ll also give you advice if you want. I may also give it if you don’t want it.

Enjoy your weekend!!

Bachelorette Recap: Week 2

Week 1 of the Bachelorette is finally over, which means we can maybe start to remember the names of some of the guys. Maybe. There’s still like a lot of them. The previews from this episode show that the love word may be coming sooner than normal, because of course it is. Also, the guys that are going to be the villains or villain seem to be getting revealed tonight. Let’s jump on in…

Bachelorette Recap: Week 1, Part 2

When the Bachelorette left us on Monday night, Chris Harrison had seemingly finished counting the votes and was getting ready to announce who was voted out of the tribe not the bachelorette.

c24eb8e837a82eb4c864cbc47f7daa91d1a2a3b4f76e6e1dc0964b0f16184a21Let’s just jump right back in, shall we? Out of curtsey to anyone who is brave enough to venture onto the internet and thinks they wont find spoilers of things before they watch them (JOFFREY IS DEAD), spoilers are beneath the cut.

Bachelorette Recap: Week 1, Part 1

The new season of the Bachelorette is here! I need to start off by saying how confused I was by the idea of two bachelorettes. I honestly thought we were going to be graced with the presence of BOTH Kaitlyn and Britt through the whole season. Not that one was going to get voted off on the first night. When this was announced at the last finale, it sounded like the guys would vote for who they wanted to date while they were there, and that they would both be there for the whole season, like sharing the title of Bachelorette. Apparently, I was wrong. And for some reason even though the Bachelorette is supposed to be about the women’s choice in their love lives, then men are going to decide who really deserves to be the Bachelorette. Like come on ABC, let’s give the women a voice here and let them both be the Bachelorette or make the decision on your own. Seriously though, how screwed up is it that ABC has made the decision to take away the specialness of being the Bachelorette by leaving the decision in a group of men that are meeting these women for the first time tonight. We get it; it was a hard decision to choose between the two, it was obviously hard because you didn’t do it. Instead, you are bringing two women here, to be judged by men, and send one home rejected and devastated, like immediately after she got broken up with on national TV. I am sure that is healthy for anyone’s emotional well-being. I get that yes, this is a show that they signed up for. But this giving the men the choice is just pretty vile for a show that is supposed to be the redemption and second chance at love for a woman that had her heart broken for everyone to see.

Anyways, here we go on the first recap! Spoilers will obviously be prominent in here.

Flashback Friday: Angsty Teen Break Up Songs

Anyone feel like reminiscing some teen angst from the early 2000’s?! Good, me too!

These songs were the anthems of breakups in those years, in addition to pretty much every other feeling you felt. These bands just got you. And it’s oddly fun to relive that and see how much you remember these songs, I bet you remember more words than you thought you would!

Focusing on ones that centered on relationships ending, because this is a blog about relationships after all. Here we go!

1) Cute without the E (Cut from the Team) – Taking Back Sunday

The lyrics that spoke to you: I will never ask if you don’t ever tell me/I know you well enough to know you never loved me
