The new season of the Bachelorette is here! I need to start off by saying how confused I was by the idea of two bachelorettes. I honestly thought we were going to be graced with the presence of BOTH Kaitlyn and Britt through the whole season. Not that one was going to get voted off on the first night. When this was announced at the last finale, it sounded like the guys would vote for who they wanted to date while they were there, and that they would both be there for the whole season, like sharing the title of Bachelorette. Apparently, I was wrong. And for some reason even though the Bachelorette is supposed to be about the women’s choice in their love lives, then men are going to decide who really deserves to be the Bachelorette. Like come on ABC, let’s give the women a voice here and let them both be the Bachelorette or make the decision on your own. Seriously though, how screwed up is it that ABC has made the decision to take away the specialness of being the Bachelorette by leaving the decision in a group of men that are meeting these women for the first time tonight. We get it; it was a hard decision to choose between the two, it was obviously hard because you didn’t do it. Instead, you are bringing two women here, to be judged by men, and send one home rejected and devastated, like immediately after she got broken up with on national TV. I am sure that is healthy for anyone’s emotional well-being. I get that yes, this is a show that they signed up for. But this giving the men the choice is just pretty vile for a show that is supposed to be the redemption and second chance at love for a woman that had her heart broken for everyone to see.
Anyways, here we go on the first recap! Spoilers will obviously be prominent in here.
